Our Childcare Rooms
0 – 2 years
Children in our Bambino & Piccolino Rooms have a key teacher helping the child and their family transition into the daycare centre, including settling visits before their first day. Their key teacher provides the child with all of their daily care and routines, closely mimicking those from home.
Children are offered a multitude of play activities within a daycare environment that is setup specifically for children under the age of 2.
2 – 3 years
Within our preschool in Palmerston North is our Mezzo Room, with a large space set up to cater for busy toddlers. Our Preschool teachers are highly experienced in working with this age group and specifically focus on catering to children’s social and emotional needs.
We provide activities and a preschool environment that offers children many opportunities to explore and grow in a safe place. This allows children to set and test their own limits and boundaries, and extends children’s rapidly growing forms of communication, wants and needs.
3 – 6 years
Our Scuola Room encourages children’s contribution, exploration, communication, belonging and wellbeing. Children are encouraged to be more independent within this space and take the lead in their own learning, helping others and looking after our environment.
We have a focus on sustainability within our daycare centre by reusing, recycling, and repurposing at every opportunity.
We introduce sustainable habits and practices to our children by encouraging them to reduce, reuse and recycle. We also grow our own veges in our very own daycare centre garden.
Using Storypark significantly reduces the amount of paper used for forms and newsletters.
We use local suppliers and partners in Palmerston North where possible, supporting the sustainability of businesses in our community.
We believe every little bit helps to ensure sustainability for our precious future generations!
Connecting Children with Nature
The natural world is a giant, open-ended learning laboratory. Children are innate scientists and love to experience the sights, scents, sounds, and textures of the outdoors.
Whether it’s growing vegetables, creating a masterpiece with dirt, twigs and sand, watch worms wriggle through the soil, gazing at clouds, jumping in puddles, listening to birds sing, smelling fresh-cut grass and collecting seeds – any outdoor learning experience is always a positive one!
We are proud to offer all of the above opportunities through our very own natural outdoor environment right here at our Palmerston North childcare centre – some KEY benefits to spending time outside include: Increasing involvement in physical activity, enhancing cognitive abilities, creativity and imaginative play. It also supports problem solving, improves self confidence, promotes advanced motor development including fitness, co-ordination and agility.
